About Jewel of the Seas
Jewel of the Seas is the fourth and final Radiance Class ship, delivered by Meyer Werft in 2004. At 90,090 gross tons and 962 feet she carries 2,191 guests at double occupancy and up to 2,702, with 852 crew and 1,097 staterooms. She shares the class signature of glass everywhere: a sea-facing Centrum with glass elevators, panoramic lounges and a Solarium under a retractable roof, which keeps the ship feeling open and light even on sea days.
A 2016 revitalization costing about 30 million dollars replaced Portofino with Giovanni’s Table, added Izumi and the Vintages wine bar, built a two-bedroom family suite and 24 extra rooms, installed a poolside outdoor theater, a nursery and ship-wide Wi-Fi, and redesigned Chops Grille, the spa and the shops. A three-week drydock in Brest in spring 2024 overhauled the propulsion pods and stabilizers, repainted the hull and replaced every exterior window.
For 2026 to 2027 Jewel sails short cruises from Fort Lauderdale and Tampa to Perfect Day at CocoCay and Royal Beach Club Paradise Island in Nassau, with Bimini and Key West on some itineraries. From April 2027 she settles into Fort Lauderdale for three- and four-night Bahamas cruises. She suits first-time cruisers, long-weekend travelers and families who want a quick Florida escape on a mid-size ship.
