About Vision of the Seas

Vision of the Seas is the last of Royal Caribbean’s six Vision Class ships, built in Saint-Nazaire, France, and in service since May 1998. At about 78,340 gross tons and 915 feet she carries 2,050 guests at double occupancy and 2,514 maximum with 742 crew across 11 guest decks. The class is known for its glass Centrum atrium, sea-facing elevators, the Viking Crown Lounge above the pool deck and a Solarium under a retractable roof.

Her first full revitalization came in October 2013, a 34-day drydock that added Giovanni’s Table, Izumi, Chops Grille, Park Café, Chef’s Table, the R Bar, Diamond and Concierge lounges, a nursery, an outdoor movie screen and Centrum aerial shows, and refitted every stateroom with new bathrooms, carpets and flat-screen TVs. Drydocks in 2018, 2022 and spring 2024 at Grand Bahama Shipyard covered technical work and public-area upkeep. She suits drive-to cruisers from the Mid-Atlantic and anyone who wants a smaller ship with easy embarkation.

Vision sails from Baltimore through October 2026 on five-night Bermuda, nine-night Bermuda and Bahamas and Canada and New England cruises, then repositions to San Juan for seven-night Southern Caribbean cruises from November 2026 to March 2027 calling at St. Thomas, St. Croix, St. Maarten, Antigua and Dominica. She returns to Baltimore from late May to mid-October 2027 for Bermuda, Bahamas and Canada sailings before heading back to San Juan.

  • Rock climbing wall rising about 40 feet above deck
  • Adults-only Solarium pool under a retractable glass roof
  • Three pools and six whirlpools
  • Masquerade Theatre with Broadway-style shows including Boogie Wonderland
  • Centrum aerial acrobatics and the Centrum Experience light show
  • Poolside outdoor movie screen
  • Drive-to Bermuda and Bahamas cruises from Baltimore
  • Winter Southern Caribbean itineraries from San Juan

Vision of the Seas questions we answer every day

How big is Vision of the Seas?
Vision of the Seas is about 78,340 gross tons and 915 feet long with 11 guest decks, carrying 2,050 guests at double occupancy and up to 2,514 with 742 crew. She is one of the smaller ships in the fleet, with a theater, casino, three pools, a rock wall and four specialty restaurants, and her size makes embarkation in Baltimore quick and simple.
Who is Vision of the Seas best for?
She suits couples, families and retirees in the Mid-Atlantic who prefer to drive to Baltimore rather than fly, plus winter travelers who want a Southern Caribbean cruise from San Juan that visits a different island almost every day. Adventure Ocean and the nursery cover children, but teens who want waterslides and big-ship attractions should look at a larger ship.
What are the best staterooms on Vision of the Seas?
Balcony staterooms number only about 136, so they go first on Bermuda and island routes. The Ultra Spacious Ocean View rooms sleep up to six and are the best family value without a balcony. Junior Suites add a 64 square foot balcony and Concierge Club access, and Owner’s Suites offer a large sitting area and balcony.
What is included in the cruise fare?
The fare includes your stateroom, Aquarius dining room, Windjammer buffet, Park Café, production shows, Centrum entertainment, pools, rock wall, fitness center and Adventure Ocean. Specialty dining, drinks packages, spa and shore excursions cost extra. On sailings where Royal Caribbean allows it, SmartCruiser adds bonus onboard credit that is not available when booking direct.
Where does Vision of the Seas sail in 2026 and 2027?
She sails from Baltimore through mid-October 2026 on Bermuda, Bermuda and Bahamas and Canada and New England cruises, then from San Juan on seven-night Southern Caribbean cruises from November 2026 to March 2027. She is back in Baltimore from late May to mid-October 2027 with five-night Bermuda, nine-night Bahamas and Bermuda and late-season Canada cruises, then returns to San Juan.
When was Vision of the Seas last refurbished?
Her major revitalization was in October 2013, adding Giovanni’s Table, Izumi, Chops Grille, Park Café, Chef’s Table, the R Bar, new lounges, a nursery, an outdoor movie screen and refitted staterooms. Routine drydocks followed in November 2018 and February 2022, and an April to May 2024 drydock at Grand Bahama Shipyard covered technical work and public-area upkeep before she resumed Baltimore sailings.
