About Voyager of the Seas

Voyager of the Seas launched the Voyager Class in 1999 and introduced the Royal Promenade, the indoor ice rink and the rock climbing wall that Royal Caribbean ships are known for. A $97 million Royal Amplified refit in 2019 added The Perfect Storm Typhoon and Cyclone racer slides, Battle for Planet Z laser tag, a redesigned pool deck, a new Vitality Spa and fitness center, reimagined kids and teen spaces, a nursery and 72 more staterooms. At about 137,000 gross tons she carries 3,602 guests at double occupancy across 14 guest decks.

She is a comfortable choice for couples and families who want the full Royal Caribbean activity list on a ship that is easy to learn: FlowRider, Studio B ice skating, Voyager Dunes mini golf, a sports court and an adults-only Solarium by day, then Ice Odyssey, Broadway Rhythm & Rhyme and Music in Pictures, Casino Royale and 70s disco night by evening. Dining runs from the Main Dining Room, Windjammer Marketplace and Sorrento’s to Chops Grille, Giovanni’s Table and Izumi.

Voyager makes her Alaska debut in summer 2026 with 7-night Seattle round trips to Juneau, Skagway, Sitka, Icy Strait Point and Tracy Arm Fjord, sails 6 to 8 night Mexican Riviera cruises from Los Angeles in winter 2026-27, returns to Seattle for Alaska in summer 2027, then heads to Brisbane for 2 to 11 night Australia and South Pacific cruises from October 2027. Royal Caribbean’s fact sheet lists 3,602 guests at double occupancy, 4,000 guests in total, 1,200 crew and 14 guest decks. She was the largest cruise ship in the world when she debuted in 1999 and is now mid-sized for the fleet.
Where does Voyager of the Seas sail in 2026 and 2027?
Summer 2026 is her Alaska debut with 7-night Seattle round trips to Juneau, Skagway, Sitka, Icy Strait Point, Tracy Arm Fjord and Victoria. Winter 2026-27 brings 6 to 8 night Mexican Riviera cruises from Los Angeles to Ensenada, Mazatlán, Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas. She returns to Seattle for Alaska in summer 2027, then sails from Brisbane from October 2027 before moving to Asia in 2028.
What did the 2019 Royal Amplified refit add?
The $97 million, 41-day 2019 amplification added The Perfect Storm Typhoon and Cyclone racer slides, Battle for Planet Z laser tag, a redesigned pool deck, a new Vitality Spa and fitness center, reimagined Adventure Ocean and teen spaces with a nursery and outdoor teen patio, and 72 additional interior and balcony staterooms.
Which staterooms are best on Voyager of the Seas for Alaska?
A balcony midship on Decks 7 to 10 is the pick for Alaska so you can watch Tracy Arm Fjord and the Inside Passage from your room. Ocean View rooms are the value option, and Promenade View interiors are a fun budget choice. Families should compare two-bedroom Grand Suites, which sleep up to eight, against connecting balconies.
What is included in the fare on Voyager of the Seas?
The Main Dining Room, Windjammer Marketplace, Café Promenade, Sorrento’s and Sprinkles are included, as are the production shows, Ice Odyssey, laser tag, waterslides, FlowRider, rock climbing wall, mini golf, sports court, pools, Solarium and Adventure Ocean. Chops Grille, Giovanni’s Table, Izumi, Chef’s Table, alcohol, spa treatments, the arcade and the nursery are extra.
Is Voyager of the Seas good for families?
Yes. The 2019 refit added the racer slides, laser tag, a nursery and new teen spaces to a ship that already had a FlowRider, ice rink, rock wall and mini golf, and Adventure Ocean is complimentary for ages 3 to 11. Alaska sailings from Seattle are a popular multigenerational trip, and the Mexican Riviera winter season is an easy drive-to option for Southern California families.
