About Disney Magic
Disney Magic is the ship that launched Disney Cruise Line in July 1998, built by Fincantieri in Italy with the classic black hull, twin red funnels and ocean-liner lines that still define the fleet. At 84,000 gross tons with 875 staterooms and 11 guest decks, she is one of the two smallest Disney ships, which makes her easy to learn in a day and gives her a warmer, more intimate feel than the Dream and Wish Class ships.
Dry docks in 2013, 2018 and 2023 kept her current. The 2013 refit added the AquaDunk drop slide, the AquaLab splash area and Marvel’s Avengers Academy in the kids’ club; 2018 brought Rapunzel’s Royal Table, the dinner show that pairs with Tangled: The Musical in the Walt Disney Theatre; and 2023 added the adults-only Soul Cat Lounge and refurbished the Concierge suites and lounge. Rotational dining moves you through Rapunzel’s Royal Table, Animator’s Palate and Lumiere’s with the same servers each night.
Disney Magic is the fleet’s traveler. Through 2026 and 2027 she sails Baja and Mexican Riviera cruises from San Diego, Western Caribbean and Bahamas cruises from Galveston, 14-night Panama Canal crossings between the two, and seven-night Alaska cruises from Vancouver in summer 2027. She suits families who want a smaller Disney ship, Texas and Southern California families with a drive-to port, and repeat Disney cruisers chasing new itineraries.
